Chrome for iOS was updated early this month, with some features that users will find useful. The browser wars are still ongoing, with no signs of abating any time soon. With Internet browsers being the main thing people use – whether on their laptops or on their mobile devices – this is only understandable. And with Chrome being one of the sleekest and easiest browsers to use, updates such as this most recent one are only logical.

So what are the new Chrome for iOS features and why should you bother?

First, there’s Google Cloud Print.

It’s been a year – more or less – since Google made Chrome for iOS available, and truth be told, there has been no lack of updates for the browser. Google Cloud Print is a means to print straight from your device. One advantage is the fact that you can set up your Chrome account to connect to your existing printer so that wireless printing is a breeze.

Perhaps one of the more useful new Chrome for iOS features is the print-to-PDF capability. This is already possible using other third party apps, but with the Chrome update, you simply do everything from the browser. Whatever page you’re viewing will be saved to your Google Drive account as a PDF, which you can access anytime you want.

The last of the new Chrome for iOS features is the fullscreen mode for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. I suppose it’s not that revolutionary an update, but for those who want a little more screen real estate on their iDevices, this can be a godsend. Additionally, the way Chrome for iOS sets it up does provide a more pleasant fullscreen viewing experience. That’s because the controls are all found at the top toolbar, which does not get in the way – both in landscape and portrait mode.
